Re: 3TB hard drive as a secondary disk work on G31 (southbridge ICH7) chipset?

The hard drive that I use has 3 TB capacity.

I know that to be able to use all 3TB in a single partition, the disk must be in the GPT scheme.

If I use MBR scheme, will only be able to create partitions with a maximum of 2.2 TB. Like the hard drive is 3TB, I will have to create at least two partitions.

I will not install Windows on it, I do not need UEFI BIOS.

But I still have doubt if the total capacity will be recognized by the G31 chipset (ICH7 south bridge).

Found on the Intel website that this chipset does not recognize drives over 2.2 TB, but I think it is only in RAID.
