I have a related problem on a new Dell Latitude E7440. Intel's Instant Start was causing, intermittently, CRITICAL events resulting in an unexpected system restart when emerging from sleep. At the suggestion of a Dell tech, I disabled "instant start" in the BIOS. So far (1 week) the problem has gone away. But, per my event logs, irstrtsv is still causing ERRORs, to the tune of 102 in the past 7 days, 12 in the past 24 hours. One thought is to remove the "instant start" program from the computer. Is there a way to disable it so it doesn't cause these administrative errors?
