Hello Theone,

I apologize if no one addressed the other thread, but regarding your issue, please let me know why you need to update your chipset driver with this version, if you already have a chipset driver installed and if it is giving you problems.

I tested the driver 10.0.27, at the download center and it downloads and installs properly, there are several reasons that it would not install, which may include but not limited to: your current chipset may be digitally signed by the OEM, the installation method that you are using or OS compatibility.

Typically, unless you are installing an operating system; you do not need to install the Intel Chipset Software Installation Utility.

The INF allows the operating system to identify all the pieces of the chipset. Intel and Microsoft work together to include information on both current and future chipsets in new operating systems. In many cases, the operating system recognizes all the pieces of the chipset without the INF. So, if all the chipset items are currently being recognized and working, there is no need to update the chipset.

If it is necessary to update your chipset driver I would suggest trying the one in the following link which includes 5th series chipsets or to check the driver available from the manufacturer.
