The Intel® Rapid Storage Technology is a software that allow you create RAIDs from the Operating System but also, systems that support RAID configuration should have an Option ROM to create the volume from there.

If you have the possibility to create a RAID using a different method you can do it and it will be your decision to use our software or not.
